I am really happy to report that life just got a lot easier at Tomboy Trades.  It’s been a tough road managing the costs of a start-up with the monthly operating costs of just plain old doin’ business.

We have been really blessed.  We have worked really hard to get our business off the ground through research and development which includes focus groups, pounding the pavement and receiving your emails.  Add a touch of good luck and lots of help from God.  Ask and you shall receive.  It’s the Secret come to life from inception to product development.  Not to mention, the brave company, the largest home improvement company in the world, The Home Depot who has been there along the way to support, motivate and work through the struggles of a Mompreneur who’s breaking into a new industry.

Before I wrap off our first ever company blog, I would like to thank a few very important people.  First of all, my husband.  I can’t imagine another life partner who would be as supportive as my Taz.  He watches, lives and breathes the ups and downs of my business venture.  He has supported us financially and spiritually and has done so with a smile on his face because he believes in what I am doing.  

I would also like to thank my Mom, who has suffered the pains of watching a daughter take a business off the ground and who has sacrificed her time, peaceful existence and finances to support my business.

My sister started her support with her team at Boom Marketing who helped find the perfect company name and come up with some brilliant ideas to market our boots.  And my babies, who have inspired me to do something spectacular.  I want to teach them to dream big, think the impossible and love passionately.  I hope to live the philosophy.

And for those people who have been there to motivate and get stuff done.  Wendy Gibson, my graphics designer, Kevin Kuhlemeier from Wolf Creek Idea Group, my web guru, Edward Henry, from the Sales Institute of Canada, my advisor, Anne Day, The Company of Women for being fantastic, Kathy Savas at the Royal Bank for saving me and for the Home Depot.  At the Home Depot there are is a long list of employees who make this happen and we are a time consuming vendor so their time is much appreciated.

Thanks for checking out Tomboy Trades.  Thanks for wearing work boots.  I look forward to developing a product line and business that supports the women who work in physically demanding jobs.
